We’re excited and honored to be playing short sets at two Moisture Festival shows over the next few weeks. As most Seattleites know, the Festival is a monthlong series of comic, musical, vaudevillian, aerialist, thow-that-fun-thing-in-too performances. It bills itself as “is the world’s largest Comedy/Varietè festival,” and we don’t hear anybody arguing with that claim.

We’ll be playing twice, both times during family-friendly events: 3 p.m. Sunday, March 31 at the Broadway Performance Hall on Capitol Hill, and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7 at Hale’s Palladium in Ballard. Check out the rest of the artists who will be in the show! Tickets are $10-$20.

Port Townsend Square Dance and Lake City Contra Dance!

We are playing the Port Townsend Square Dance at the sweet old grange hall over on the (insert geographical land type here) with Tony Mates calling on the 17th of November. Should be a charming, old fashioned night. Details here: http://www.ptcommunitydance.com/

And then on the night before Thanksgiving we are playing the Lake City Contra dance at the Lake City Community Center with Short Circuit and Michael Karcher and Tony Mates calling. So come out and brun your calories before the big meal… Details here: http://seattledance.org/contra/lakecity

This might be how you feel after dancing to some rockin tunes. Come on out!

The Lamplight Sessions! Featuring Riley and Leo…

Washington’s March

Leo and Riley were up late last night and decided to record an album! It has six tunes on it, both old-time and Irish, and we thought it might be fun to put one of them here and see what people thought of it. This is the first track, Washington’s March, featuring Leo on fiddle and Riley on the strummed fiddle. Eventually you will be able to purchase a $5 physical copy, with some cool album artwork that we just made. For now, give this a listen if you are so inclined!

Wild and Scenic Music Festival!

This coming weekend (August 24th-26th), The Onlies will be taking a small road trip over to Leavenworth, WA to play at the Wild and Scenic Music Fest! We will be playing a barn dance on Friday night, and a show at “Canyon Wren” from 2:30-3:15 PM. We are all looking forward to it, and if you have a free weekend, and perhaps want to jam and listen to some AWESOME music from bands and people like Caleb Clauder, Danny Barnes, Hot Cider, The Onlies, and many more, you should come on down! See you there! Here is a video with more info: Wild and Scenic Festival

A Terribly Well Deserved Holiday

A Terribly Well Deserved Holiday

The Onlies are thrilled that school is winding down for the year, and they can kick back and enjoy a break from homework, some good times with friends, and fine tunes for the masses. They’ll be doing some busking, but also making their last appearance of 2011 in their favorite Irish pub, A Terrible Beauty in West Seattle. That’s Thursday, December 22nd from 5:30p-7:30p.

Join them for drinks and dinner, rockin’ good tunes, and maybe even buy a CD stocking stuffer or two (although you can also order them from this site).

Singing!

Its happening people! You were scared of this moment when the Onlies would sharpen some more tools from “the toolbox.” Well, your fears have finally been confirmed. Because the Onlies are singing now! We are still working on more repertoire but we promise that the songs will be leaning on the original side of the spectrum. That’s right, the Onlies are writing songs!

Maybe we can sing into this one someday!

The Onlies, being modern youth, do like their social media. We shoulda mentioned this before, but you can of course Like the Onlies Facebook page, just as much as you can like them in real life. Actually, you can only Like them once on Facebook, but feel free to like them more than that in real life.

The band is taking a month-long break for, among other things, exotic traveling to the Euro-zone. Stay tuned for tales from the road, but put the night 0f November 10th on your calendars for a raucous return engagement to A Terrible Beauty.
